Notification Under Section 95(2) of the Environment Protection
and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act)
Tara and Dundulla Dryland Cropping Expansion, NSW (EPBC
2026/10553)
A J and K M Smith are proposing to clear up to 587 ha of native vegetation to
develop the area for dryland crop production on Tara and Dundulla Station, near
Walgett, NSW.
The proposed action has been determined to be a “controlled action” under the
EPBC Act. The controlling provision under the EPBC Act is “Listed threatened
species and communities” (Sections 18 and 18A). The National Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) has advised that the project will be assessed by
preliminary documentation lodged with the referral.
This preliminary documentation will be on display in hard copy for 10
business days from Thursday 13th August to Wednesday 26th August 2026
at the following locations:
- Walgett Council, 77 Fox Street, Walgett NSW 2832
Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm - Local Land Services, 75 Fox Street, Walgett NSW 2832
Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm.
