Are you an experienced Environmental Consultant, who enjoys developing client relationships? We are seeking a new team member to lead a broad range of environmental consulting projects.
Pinion Advisory’s business is centred around agriculture. We undertake a full range of environmental consulting services related to the sustainable use and development of land, water and natural assets. The broad scope of our environmental consulting services includes native vegetation, soil and landscape impact assessments, feral animal monitoring and management plan development, contaminated site assessment, environmental monitoring, and terrestrial and aquatic ecology.
Our diverse environmental consulting team is also recognised for developing and implementing circular economy strategies relevant to agriculture, with a depth of experience in recycled water, biosolids, composting and management of other organic waste streams.
Based in Mildura, the successful candidate will develop environmental consulting opportunities across Pinion Advisory’s existing client base, while also developing new clients both locally and further afield.
Who are we looking for?
Pinion Advisory is looking for a client focused, commercially oriented Environmental Consultant.
For success in this role, you will require:
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. environmental, earth or natural resource science, ecology, hydrogeology etc)
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant role
- Consulting experience, with a demonstrated talent for building new business
- Demonstrated project management experience in a commercial environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a keenness and ability to manage existing clients, build new client relationships and work within a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as working with colleagues based locally and working in our other locations
- A high level of computer literacy (GIS skills an advantage)
You will require a driver’s licence and be prepared to do some travel as projects and clients require.

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of extension and adoption strategies and tactics that enable innovation, practice change and adoption of technologies, systems and tools to enhance productivity, profitability and sustainability – on farm and within the industry.
The successful applicant will be a key member of the Ag Production and Adoption team, providing expert advice to clients and stakeholders on designing extension and adoption programs, planning and running events and designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation programs.
The right person for this position will have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as agribusiness, agricultural or rural science, natural resource management or business management
- Five years demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in project management and leadership in a commercial environment, including contract and financial management, and complex diverse teams
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and identify emerging issues
- Demonstrated experience in event coordination and delivery and workshop and seminar presentations to different target audiences
- Demonstrated experience in adult learning and designing programs to build understanding, confidence and skill
- Excellent communication and writing skills with the capacity to communicate effectively and in an appropriate manner for the audience
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the ability to work autonomously
