A new program delivered by Pinion Advisory, Feedbase Plus is designed to support Pasture Principles graduates to build upon the guiding principles of pasture management and become confident in developing and maintaining a strategic feed budget for their livestock system.
WHAT WILL BE COVERED IN FEEDBASE PLUS?
Designed to continue the Pasture Principles journey, Feedbase Plus offers a supported learning environment for producers to increase their knowledge, confidence and skills in the following areas:
- Build and maintain a strategic feed budget for your grazing enterprise.
- Accurately measure pasture growth and calculate animal feed requirements across the seasons.
- Understand and interpret feed budget outputs including:
- Match feed supply (pasture growth) to feed demand (animal feed requirements).
- Identify where feed surpluses and/or deficits are likely to occur in your grazing system across the year.
- Make informed tactical and strategic business decisions based on individual on-farm data.
In addition, participants will have access to:
- Pinion Advisory’s feed budget tool.
- Recorded video tutorials to assist in developing and maintaining the feed budget out of session.
- Support from an experienced coach to assist in tactical decision-making for seasonal grazing management.
2025 COURSE DETAILS
Feedbase Plus is supported by MLA’s Profitable Grazing Systems program and is offered at an introductory price for 2025.
